Ara: Members of the Ara Bar Association (ABA) abstained from court work on Monday to protest alleged dilly-dallying attitude of police in rescuing their missing colleague even after lapse of nearly a month. At a meeting convened by ABA president Ramadhar Singh, it was decided that the lawyers would resort to aggressive protest if their colleague, Bimal Kumar Singh, was not rescued within 15 days.

ABA general secretary Rajesh Kumar Pandey said Singh, who had gone to Patna for some work, went missing on December 9 and his location was traced somewhere near Buxar and Zamania. “Every effort to trace him has proved futile so far, leaving us with no other option but to resort to agitation,” Pandey said.
An advocate of Ara civil court, Singh is a resident of Karaza village under Barahara police station. He used to live in Maulabagh locality of the town in a rented house. He was in touch with his family till December 9, 2015, and after that his mobile was found switched off. The call detail record showed his whereabouts at Buxar and Zamania in Uttar Pradesh till December 9. Nishant, the eldest son of the advocate, had requested the police and even people’s representatives several times for the safe recovery of his father, but to no avail. He said his father had gone to Patna but has not returned till date.
